Baking up a Lemon Storm

Shortly before Easter Holidays Topaz took a trip to the neighbouring Jugendfarm for a bread baking and lemonade making fieldtrip. Blessed with a warm and sunny day, Topaz took advantage of the weather and stayed outdoors most of the time. Together with our wonderful guides, we got our fingers sticky and kneaded the bread dough. As we left the dough to rise some of the kids learned how to start and upkeep a safe and plentiful fire, while others gathered delicious herbs, squeezed lemons and mixed our homemade ground elder apple lemonade. With the fire embers hot and ready, we wrapped the dough around the sticks and patiently roasted away. To finish off the wonderful day, we broke bread together around the table quenching our thirst with sweet and sticky lemonade.
