We chose the theme by the entire JVC team, realizing we need all need to “find our footing” again after a year and a half of instability due to the Corona Crisis. We need to find our human connections again and show empathy, imagining what it’s like to walk in someone else’s shoes.

In the phase after the lockdown, the JVC Grammar School organized a project week in the course of which the learning partners of the Mars and Earth learning groups (9th & 10th grade) wrote an advertorial on JVC for the Süddeutsche Zeitung. Despite the unprecedented challenges of the Corona crisis, we are pleased to announce that we are extraordinarily proud of our Jules Verne “diamonds” in grade 4 who recently participated in the trial lessons in various external secondary schools (Gymnasium and Realschule) with the aim to be accepted for the next school year. During the first lockdown in the spring of 2020, everyday life on Campus as we knew it changed. Not being allowed to come to the learning house any more… not only does that mean that “normal lessons" are not possible, but it also means that our daily life on Campus as we know it—seeing friends, sharing experiences, experimenting, fun at breaks, lunch in the Oasis—ceased from one day to the next. Our JVC learning partners miss Anja and the kitchen team, and the once bustling Oasis is strange and empty.
